SAU Unveils “The Grove”
After a busy summer of renovations, the Cosgrove cafeteria, now dubbed “The Grove”, has gotten a major face-lift. For more than a month, the Sodexo staff have been hard at work and adjusting to the change under the supervision of general manager Sarjit Singh. Singh says they began by asking how they could make each station better and assures their work has paid off.
“The openness of it is very inviting,” says Singh. “It’s very modern, of course.” The staff is also excited about some updates that students may not have expected.
“I love the different types of seating that students can enjoy,” says Singh. “A little game area for when football season starts, which is right now.”
SAU Dining Services is also making an effort to be sustainable. “We decided to add a herb garden so that as the herbs grow, we can use it in the cooking that you can see every day.”
There’s something for everyone at The Grove, including students with food allergies. Those with any kind of food allergy can always find a meal at the Simple Servings station. “That’s such a phenomenal thing to have in today’s world,” says Singh.
For those who have a sweet tooth, Dining Services has also added a brand new bakery and hired a new baker to manage it. Plus, if a student visits The Grove and can’t find anything appetizing, the deli
has a new panini-maker and self-cook station.
Students and staff can see each day’s meal options at The Grove and in the Rogalski Center food court on the Everyday app.
