The Paris Olympic Games begin in July and basketball fans say they are already pumped about the USA roster.

The podcast, hosted by SAU Median senior, Tanner Grey, brought together SAU basketball players Kieran Farrell and Will Spriggs, and SAU basketball broadcaster Ryan Schiestel.

The group discusses and predicts the success of USA basketball in this year’s 2024 Olympics in Paris.

Kieran started off saying, “I think if they don’t win it’s going to cause mayhem.”

Ryan Schiestel adds, “This is one of those rosters that on paper you look at it and you can’t beat those names.”

Will Spriggs mentioned, “There was a bunch of young guys on the team last year, I’m pretty sure that’s why they lost.”

They compare the Dream Team, Redeem Team, and the 2024 USA team. Kieren mentions that all three of these teams have different styles of play. But, even though all three teams have the most talent, the European teams have a different type of chemistry. Another topic discussed was who got snubbed.

“The fact that Kyrie’s not there is making me upset,” Spriggs mentions.

The USA team is considering bringing a college player onto the roster. They guys mention Cooper Flagg and Bronny James as possible contenders.

Schiestel says, “Now, there are so many more NBA players on these European teams, all of a sudden that big advantage we had isn’t there as much anymore.”

Canada, France, and Serbia are deemed to be the biggest threats. Dennis Schroeder’s legacy run in 2023 is mentioned as well. He carried Germany to a FIBA World Cup Championship in 2023, but USA didn’t have who they’re going to have this upcoming year.
