Word on the Street: Staying in and watching what?
2020 and 2021 have forced everyone to spend an increased time at home (or in the dorms). Many home-stayers have turned to watching more television, specifically shows that they can binge watch. With streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, Youtube, and Disney Plus, catching up on content has never been easier.
A surge of subscriptions and time spent watching these platforms was noticed. Screen time overall was up almost a third (31%) last year BBC News reports. According to Forbes, when Covid-19 shutdowns caused homebound consumers to turn to Netflix, the subscription growth broke subscription records for six months straight.
After over a year of COVID-19 in the United States and after many hours of streaming and binge-watching, what shows are considered the best by some St. Ambrose University students?
