Many people say cold weather can sometimes bring them down, a statement that has some scientific backing to it. Fortunately, there are ways to combat this dreary depression. Scientists suggest mindful eating, exercising, spending time outdoors and listening to upbeat music as ways to make the negative temperatures a bit more positive. We wanted to know . . . how do you beat the winter blues?


Phil Kindler:

I drink hot chocolate, go bowling and watch movies with friends.


Matt Hansen:

I go to the library and check out DVDS, because they are free. I don’t know why more people don’t take advantage.  


Sophia Pierce:

When I lived in NYC and worked for Wall Street, I would book flights to Florida. I would stay for a long weekend, bring two books and sit on the beach for the day.
