The holidays are here, which means everybody may soon be listening to holiday music. For those still searching for their favorite Christmas CD, here are some albums to take a listen to.

Merry Christmas by Mariah Carey

Mariah Carey is well-known for her Christmas albums, and this album represents Mariah accurately. This CD is a pop Christmas album, and focuses on Carey’s whistling tones and long notes held for a little too long. But does anyone expect anything less from MiMi? The most popular song off this album is unsurprisingly, “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” The next most popular song off this album is “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home).” If you’re looking for an upbeat, pop Christmas album, then this is definitely the album for you.

Jackson 5 Christmas Album by Jackson 5

Jackson 5’s 1970 Christmas album would be described as soulful. The CD really focuses on the Jackson’s voices rather than the music. Both the music, and the voices are wonderful, but it’s easy to tell that the voices outshine the music throughout. The most popular songs on this album are “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” and “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus.” If you’re looking for an upbeat throwback to play with friends and family, then this is for you.

Christmas With Weezer by Weezer

Weezer’s 2008 Christmas album is very festive in a very Weezer way. Weezer is an alternative, pop punk band, and on this album, traditional Christmas songs became very punk-pop. Although, Weezer’s vocals are amazing, the focus is on the instruments on this album. Weezer excels in the instrumentals of bass, guitar and drums. The most popular songs off this album are “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” and “O Holy Night.” If you are looking for a non-traditional Christmas CD, then take a listen to this album.

Under The Mistletoe by Justin Bieber

Justin Bieber’s 2011 Christmas album features many popular artists like Mariah Carey, Boyz II Men and The Band Perry. This album is very bubblegum pop, and focuses mostly on Bieber’s vocals, although a lot of them may be auto tuned. The most popular songs on this album are “Mistletoe” and “All I Want For Christmas Is You” which features Mariah Carey and claims to be “extra festive” in comparison to the classic. If you’re in the mood for bubblegum pop mixed with Christmas classics, then take a listen.

A Merry Christmas by Bing Crosby & the Andrews Sisters

This traditional Christmas album was originally recorded in the 1950s, but remastered in 2000. The CD features Bing Crosby who is famous for his song “White Christmas,” and the Andrews Sisters. The most popular songs on featured on this album are “Mele Kalikimaka” which means “Merry Christmas” in Hawaiian. Another popular song off this album is, “Twelve Days of Christmas.” This is a very soothing album, and is perfect for cuddling at the fireplace.
